Conversions
Conversions can be inexpensively carried out on a variety of buildings
providing the basic structure is sound. The uses can vary considerably,
a barn to a house, an out-building to a studio, workshop, gallery or
even a holiday let. But the best conversions are always those planed
with a specific purpose in mind.
Legal Considerations
Generally most conversions will have to be undertaken with "Building Regulations"
approval. This means it will be necessary to notify the Local Council
of the intended work, pay a fee for inspections by an Inspector and
receive written approval for each stage of the work.
Many conversions will also require "Planning Permission", this
will involve submitting drawings etc to the Local Council, along with paying
additional fees.
We Can Help
ColneSpring can assist with obtaining "Building Regulations" approval
and provide the necessary drawing etc for simpler conversions requiring "Planning
Permission". For larger more complex project we recommend acquiring
the services of an Architect.
Included as a part of our service, we will liaise with the local building
inspector and arrange for the required inspections.
Cost
If you are working to a tight budget we can offer a selection of conversion options including a package known as the shell scheme where Colnespring
Builders will do as much or as little of the work as you require.
We are always happy to discuss your proposed designs and evaluate their
practicality and provide useful suggestions based on years of experience.
